May 2022 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

It’s hard to believe our school year is coming to an end.  The children have learned a great deal.  The teachers of Bright Beginnings feel very honored and blessed to have witnessed this growth first hand and want to thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us.

We would like to thank our Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool families who donated food and other items to our CEAP campaign.  We are excited to say our donations for 2022 came to a total of 514 lbs.  WAY TO GO BBCP FAMILIES!!!

A BIG thank you to Mr. Green for visiting our classes to explain the parts of a saddle during Western Week.

The week of May 2nd, we will be having our school Art Show.  Throughout this school year, the teachers have been collecting the students’ artwork to have framed and be placed on display for our Show.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, the artwork will be on display in the atrium during school hours for your viewing.  You will be astonished at how their masterpieces look even more amazing after they have been framed.  On Thursday and Friday you will be able  to take your child’s art home.  A suggested donation of $5.00 or whatever amount you feel comfortable with, will be applied to the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund. Bright Beginnings would like to thank those who donated frames and our parents who have volunteered to frame the children’s artwork!  If you have any questions about our Art Show, please ask your teachers.

On May 18th & 19th we will be going on our field trip/picnic to Como Zoo.  This field trip will last longer than the usual morning class time. We will be returning to school at 1:00 pm.

On May 24th & 25th we will be having a Bubble Party at preschool for our Field Day.

The Graduation Program will be on May 26th & 27th in the Sanctuary.  Parents and others wishing to attend the ceremony, should arrive shortly before 11:00am.  This is a “Kodak” moment and our last day of school!

If your child is currently enrolled in our program, you will not have to fill out new enrollment forms for the next 2022-23 school year, but you will need to update any information such as immunizations, etcetera at our Open House.  If a new sibling is enrolled for next year, you will need to fill out forms for this child.  These forms can be downloaded and printed off from our website at www.bbc-preschool.com and then turned into the teachers before the end of May, instead of waiting until Open House or the first day of school if you would like.  A confirmation and reminder letter will go out towards the end of July to remind families if any required paperwork is not in your student’s file at that point.

Your child’s Progress Reports and their portfolio will be available the day of Graduation in the Atrium.

We have attached a Parent Evaluation Form.  Please complete this form and return it to your teachers at your earliest convenience.  This information is extremely helpful for us to develop a better program.

Have a safe & blessed summer!

Your teachers;  Carol Green, Carrie Magner, Laura Petrie, Megan Hoitink & Sue Johnson

2021/22 COVID Protocol

The Health Department of the State of MN has updated their recommendations for COVID.  Below is BBCP’s updated Protocol to reflect the State’s of MN guidelines.

Please read carefully to understand each situation to make the decision of what applies to your student in the various situations.  If you have any questions, please let us know.

  • If your preschool student tests positive, they will need to stay home for 5 days from the day the student tested positive and are fever free without fever-reducing medication for 24 hrs and symptoms are improving. After isolation, the student will have to wear a mask for the remaining 5 of the 10 days from testing positive.
  •  If a preschool student tests positive, but has NO symptoms, the student will have to stay home for 5 days from the day they tested positive. They should also wear a mask for the remaining 5 of the 10 days after testing positive.
  • If your vaccinated preschool student has had a close contact with a student/person who has tested positive in or out of the classroom, they will not have to be isolated unless they are showing symptoms, but should wear a mask for 10 days from exposure.
  • If your preschool student has had close contact with a student/person who has tested positive in or out of the classroom, and your student was wearing a mask, your student will not need to isolate and stay home, but should continue to wear a mask.
  • If your student has had close contact with a student/person who has tested positive in or out of the classroom, and your student was not wearing a mask, your student will need to isolate and stay home for 5 days and can return if showing no symptoms. A PCR test is highly recommended before returning and students need to wear a mask for the remaining 5 of the 10 days from exposure.
  • If your student has had close contact with a student/person who has tested positive in or out of the classroom, and your student has previously contracted COVID, your student does not have to isolate if they were or were not wearing a mask.  Your student has natural immunities for 90 days from the time they tested positive.

At BBCP masks are not mandated, but highly recommended.  If you can get your child to wear a mask, the teachers will do their best to have them wear them during class.  This way your student will avoid missing classes if exposed.

Bright Beginnings is trying our best to keep our staff, students, and their families as healthy as we can.  We pray that one day this will all be behind us and be just a blur in our memories.  Thank you for all you do to help keep our families healthy and safe.
