October 2023

The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school.  Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from their cars.  We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone.  We ask that you please label all of your student’s personal belongings, such as jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. The month of October is extremely busy with many events.

We are excited to say we are Fundraising with Gertens Greenhouse again this year!  Our Gertens 2023 Holiday Fundraiser kickoff begins on October 1st and ends on the 23rd at 10:00 pm.  All orders will be made on-line and will be delivered on November 28th to the preschool. To place your orders go directly to www.gertensfundraising.com and enter Store ID: 638 for Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool. Brochures will be emailed to you showing pictures and prices of the greens and poinsettias. They are beautiful and perfect for the upcoming Holiday Season.  This fundraiser is our only fundraiser to raise money for our Field Trips.  BBCP will receive 30% of all plant sales and 15% of plant card sales.  If you have any questions, please ask your teacher.  We would like to reach a goal of 100% participation by all students in the school.  With everyone’s support, we will make this fundraiser a HUGE success!

October 4th, the 3 day students will take their first field trip. They will be going to SeaQuest in Roseville. This zoo-like experience is the ultimate sea and land adventure with over 1,200 animals and 300 different species.  Students and chaperones need to be ready to load the bus by 8:50 so we leave at 9:00.  Little Explorers afternoon class will be held when we return from our field trip.

“Memories with Mom” will be held on October 17th & 18th .   We invite moms or any other female figure in your child’s life to attend a day of preschool with your student. If you are not able to attend this event, please notify your child’s teacher so we can buddy them up with another adult.  This year’s theme is Apples!  Moms and students will make an apple tea towel to take home when dry and help cook some Apples with cinnamon.    Students in the “Little Explorers” S.T.E.M. program, who attend in the afternoon only, are to arrive at 9:00 am to participate.  Little Explorer’s parents, please plan to stay for lunch.  If you have any questions, please direct them to your child’s teachers.

On 10/19 & 20 the school will be closed for the MN Professional Conference.

10/30 & 10/31 we will be having our Pumpkin Parties.  When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent and bathroom friendly.  Some suggestions that work out nice are:  Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Storybook Characters, etc.   In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party.  Please be aware of students who have allergies in your child’s class when picking out treats. They usually go home with plenty of treats to share with their family!

Other reminders for this month:  Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your healthcare provider before October 11th  if you haven’t already.

As a reminder, we will be taking our school pictures on 11/8 & 11/9.  More information on Picture Day will be in the November Bulletin.

In God’s love,

Your Bright Beginnings Teaching Staff
