November Joyful News

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

The cold weather has come upon us.  Please label your child’s winter wear so if it becomes misplaced, we can be sure to get it back to them.

We would like to thank our chaperones who attended the Apple Jack Orchard’s field trip for their assistance.  Everyone seemed to have a good time tasting different apples and riding on the wagon.

It is hard to believe that one third of the school year has almost passed.  Tuition for the second trimester is due on or before November 15th.

The Pizza Fundraiser was a success!  If anyone has not turned in their order or has forgotten to order for themselves due to the hectic past few weeks, please get it in by the end of this week.  The Pizza orders will be delivered to the school on Wednesday, November 17. Please mark your calendars!  All classes are to pick up their student’s orders in the front of the school from 11:30 to 1:30 pm.  If you have any questions on this, please see your teachers.

A conference sign-up sheet will be available soon.  Look for this sheet when you drop off your child at the beginning of class.  Conferences for Mrs. Smieja’s MWF am class in room #4, will be on Friday, November 19th in the afternoon after classes.  This is a change from the original scheduled conference time.  The T-TH classes with Mrs. Rose & Mrs. Schantzen will remain as scheduled on November 23rd . Mrs. Schanzen’s MWF am & pm classes in classroom #2, conferences will be on Wednesday, November 24th also as previously scheduled.  Conference will last 10 minutes for each student.

The school will be closed on November 25th & 26th in recognition of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

With the oncoming flu and cold season, we would like your help in reducing the spread of viruses by having your child wash their hands before and after school.  Also if you are aware your child is not feeling well, please keep them home.  These precautions will help us all stay healthy.

We would like to thank Arabella Senescall’s family for the pumpkins they donated to the school.  It helped to create a wonderful fall atmosphere.

May we all give thanks to Him,

October Joyful News

Friday, October 1st, 2010

The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school.  Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from class.  We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone.  The month of October is extremely busy with many events.

Dates to remember:

Dist. Workshop – No School      10/8

Apple Jack Orchards Field Trip   10/19 & 10/20

Pumpkin Parties                       10/28 & 10/29

School Pictures                       11/3   & 11/4

Information on our Pizza Fundraiser is attached.  Last year was such a great success!  We hope that this will be even better.  This fundraiser is a wonderful way for our school to raise money for in-house visitors, entertainers and special equipment for the classes. We appreciate everyone’s support and participation to make this another huge success!

We still have a few children who have not turned in their $30 activity fee.  Please get it in as soon as possible to help cover the expenses of our first field trip and the Pumpkin Party at the end of this month.  When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent.  Some suggestions that work out nice are:  Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Disney Characters, etc.   In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party.  They usually go home with plenty of goodies to share with their family!

Other reminders for this month:  Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your health care provider before October 13th if you haven’t already.    Also, anyone who has not turned in their Food Perspective forms may still do so.  This is an ongoing fundraiser in which you get paid approximately $20-$35 dollars for tasting food, while the school receives $9 for your participation.

If you haven’t already discovered, we are excited to say, we have updated our website located at www.joyfulnoisepreschool.com!  At our website, under Forms and Links, you will find all the forms to register your student for school, order Scholastic Books online, and the field trip permission forms.  Under the category News for Parents, you will find the monthly newsletter and calendar, as well as the Yearly Calendar, information about the field trips we will be taking and how to subscribe or resubscribe automatically to have the monthly Joyful Newsletters sent directly to your email address.  We hope you find our new website easy to navigate through and a good tool to find information at your fingertips.

We are also looking for donations of oversized paper from your work or at home to be used in the classrooms.  Please do not go out and buy this paper.  If anyone can help us out, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

In God’s love,
