The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school. Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from class. We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone. The month of October is extremely busy with many events.
As many of you may have already heard, Mrs. Schantzen added a 3rd boy to their wonderful family! Beautiful Baby Crosby Schantzen was born on September 18. While Mrs. Shantzen is on leave, Mrs. Daniels will be assisting Mrs. Resech in the classroom.
Our Usborne Cards for a Cause fundraiser kickoff will begin on 10/1 and end on 10/21. Each box contains 30 splendid handmade cards for various occasions. Our goal is to surpass last year’s total of 107 boxes! Each student who sells 5 boxes or more will receive a beautiful Usborne book called “Step By Step Drawing Book”. Your name can also be put in a drawing to win a free book if you sell 2 boxes in 2 days and another drawing for those selling 4 boxes in the first week. These cards make great Christmas gifts and gifts for other special occasions. This fundraiser is a wonderful way for our school to raise money for in-house visitors, entertainers and special equipment for the classes. We would also like to reach a goal of 100% participation by all students in the school. With everyone’s support, we will make this fundraiser a huge success!
There will be no school on 10/6 due to an Osseo Dist. Workshop
On 10/16 & 17 the school will be closed for the MN Professional Conference
Our first field trip will be to Eastman Nature Center on 10/21 & 10/22. The afternoon class will attend with the morning classes. Permission slips will be distributed to the students and need to be signed and returned to their teachers prior to October 14th & 15th.
On 10/30 & 10/31 we will be having our Pumpkin Parties. When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent. Some suggestions that work out nice are: Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Disney Characters, etc. In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party. They usually go home with plenty of goodies to share with their family!
Other reminders for this month: Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your health care provider before October 8th if you haven’t already.
Also, please return to your teachers your Shutterfly Consent form given to all classes and the “Me” sheets given to the 2 day classes.
As a reminder, we will be taking our school pictures on 11/3 & 11/4.
