December 2012 Joyful News

Friday, November 30th, 2012

December is a busy time of the year for all families and for our Preschool too.  This month is short, but it is packed with lots of activities.

The Usborne Card Fundraiser was a success!  As a school we sold 104 boxes of cards.  Congratulations to the 9 students who received the How Big is a Million? book for selling 5 boxes or more.  We want to thank everyone who participated in the fundraiser.  It helps our school become a successful extension of your child’s education.

On December 13th & 14th the preschoolers will be performing their Christmas Program which starts at 11:00 for the morning classes and 2:15 for the afternoon class.  All family members and friends are invited to watch this performance.  Refreshments will be served afterwards in the gym.  Students are to come to school at their regularly scheduled time on this day.

In the past, we have had a small gift exchange (not to exceed $5.) at the Happy Birthday Jesus Party.  This party will be held on December 20th and 21st this year.  If you wish to participate in this exchange, please purchase a gift for another child of your child’s same gender.  Label the gift girl or boy and whom it is from.

We are beginning to receive inquires about registration for the 2013-2014 preschool year.  All current families will have priority registration.  On January 22nd we open registration to the public from 5:00 – 7:00pm.  More information will follow in the January Joyful Newsletter.

There will be no school on December 24th through January 1st during the Holiday Season.  School resumes on January 2nd and 3rd.

Live, Jesus, in our hearts. Forever!

The cold weather has come upon us.  Please label your child’s winter wear so if it becomes misplaced, we can be sure to get it back to them.

Individual and class pictures will be taken on November 5th and 6th during your child’s regular class time.

It is hard to believe that one third of the school year has almost passed.  Tuition for the second trimester is due on or before November 15th.

A conference sign-up sheet will be available soon.  Look for this sheet when you drop off your child at the beginning of class.  Conferences for Mrs. Rose’s & Mrs. Schantzen’s T-TH am classes will be on Tuesday, November 20th in the morning.  Mrs. Smieja’s and Mrs. Schantzen’s MWF am classes will be on Wednesday, November 21st in the morning.  Mrs. Schantzen’s MWF pm class conferences will be held on Wednesday, November 21st in the afternoon.  A conference will last 10 minutes for each student. Students may also attend.

The school will be closed on November 22nd & 23rd in recognition of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

On November 28th & 29th we will be having our annual “Fun with Fathers” day at school.  If possible, dads or any other male figure in your child’s life should attend school this day to join us for our curriculum unit on Fantasy.  Minnesota magician, Brian Richards will be there to entertain us.  The Magic of Brian Richards has made school events entertaining, while at the same time helping kids to have fun while learning!  There will be a planned project for each student and their male figure to craft together.  Please clear your calendars, so you can enjoy this opportunity with your child during their regular class time.  If you have any questions about this special day, please direct them to your teachers.

November 30th there will be no school since the Osseo School District is off.

With the oncoming flu and cold season, we would like your help in reducing the spread of viruses by having your child wash their hands before and after school.  Also if you are aware your child is not feeling well, please keep them home.  These precautions will help us all stay healthy.
