First Days of School after Spring Break are Monday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 2nd

Scholastic Book orders are due on April 24th by 10:00pm.

April 16th & 17th, we will be having our Annual Fun with Fathers event.  If possible, dads or any other male figure in your child’s life should attend school this day with your student(s).  Please clear your calendar, so you can enjoy this opportunity with your child(ren).  Our theme this year is Occupations.  We will be building Microscopes from a kit.  Please bring a hammer and a #2 Philips screwdriver as we do not have enough for everyone.  All “Little Explorers” Dads can bring lunch and eat with their student from 11:30-12:30.

There will be school on Friday, April 19th even though Osseo School District has a remote learning day.

We would like to thank our Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool families who donated food and other items to our CEAP campaign.  We are hoping our donations will exceed 2023 at 210 lbs.  2024 poundage information will be announced in the May bulletin.

March Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Thursday, February 29th, 2024

The student’s and the staff at Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool would like to thank all the party parents who have helped with the Pumpkin Parties, Happy Birthday Jesus Parties and our Valentine Parties to make them memorable.  The crafts, games and scrumptious treats really made our parties the best!

Once again, Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool will be collecting non-perishable foods and personal hygiene items (preferably no glass) starting March 1st, to donate to the CEAP program to help out needy families who are less fortunate than us.  Before these items are taken to CEAP on Thursday, March 21st, the students will use these items to set up a grocery store in the dramatic play area.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to participate in a community project.

Friday, March 8th, no school.  Prep for conferences.

Scholastic Book orders are due on March 11th by 10:00pm. Go to our website: bbc-preschool.com on the homepage at the bottom left side to connect directly to Scholastic Books ordering on-line.  You will find some wonderful Spring and Easter books that could possibly be used as Easter Basket stuffers!

On March 15th students are encouraged to wear green. We will be setting traps in hopes of catching a Leprechaun!

Conference sign ups will be available soon.  Conferences for the 2 day class will be on Thursday morning, March 21st.Conferences for the 3 day classes will be on Friday, March. 22nd.  Conferences will last 10 minutes for each class, except for students in the Pre-Kindergarten PLUS Class, their’s will be 15 minutes each.  Students may attend conferences. If your student has Mrs. Schlicht in the morning, and Mrs. Hoitink in the afternoon, your conferences will follow one after the other.  There will be no classes for students on these days.

Spring break will be from March 25th-29th.  We hope all of you have a fantastic time spending it with your child(ren)!

School resumes on January 2nd for the T-TH students and January 3rd for the MWF students.

January 4th & 5th, we will be going on a field trip to Eastman Nature Center. We will take a personal tour outside to learn about Animals in the Winter with a Naturalist, we will explore hands-on exhibits and enjoy an engaging puppet show. A portion of this field trip is being paid for through our Gertens Holiday Poinsettias & Greens Fundraiser.

On January 12th, we will have in-person preschool even though Osseo School District is having a remote-learning day.

There will be no school on Monday, January 15th due to Martin Luther King Day.

The week of January 16th-19th we will be learning about Minnesota.  Students can wear their favorite Minnesota shirts all week to Preschool.

During the week of our theme “Summertime Fun”, students are to wear their summertime clothes to preschool on Thur., 1/25 & Fri., 1/26.  We will turn up the heat in our rooms to make it feel more summer-like and bring a beach towel with your name on it!

After 22 wonderful years of owning and operating Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool, I have decided that it is time for me to step into retirement.  At the end of this current school year, I will be retiring and closing the doors to the Preschool.  Efforts were made to continue the Preschool under new ownership, but unfortunately those efforts were unsuccessful.

It has been such an honor to teach your children, get to know each family on a personal basis and be a part of your lives.  This was not an easy decision, and I hope you will celebrate with me the long journey our Preschool program has had.   For those of you looking for a future preschool, I can offer you a few suggestions.  Please feel free to contact me.  Blessings to all.

October 2023

Monday, October 2nd, 2023

The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school.  Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from their cars.  We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone.  We ask that you please label all of your student’s personal belongings, such as jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. The month of October is extremely busy with many events.

We are excited to say we are Fundraising with Gertens Greenhouse again this year!  Our Gertens 2023 Holiday Fundraiser kickoff begins on October 1st and ends on the 23rd at 10:00 pm.  All orders will be made on-line and will be delivered on November 28th to the preschool. To place your orders go directly to www.gertensfundraising.com and enter Store ID: 638 for Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool. Brochures will be emailed to you showing pictures and prices of the greens and poinsettias. They are beautiful and perfect for the upcoming Holiday Season.  This fundraiser is our only fundraiser to raise money for our Field Trips.  BBCP will receive 30% of all plant sales and 15% of plant card sales.  If you have any questions, please ask your teacher.  We would like to reach a goal of 100% participation by all students in the school.  With everyone’s support, we will make this fundraiser a HUGE success!

October 4th, the 3 day students will take their first field trip. They will be going to SeaQuest in Roseville. This zoo-like experience is the ultimate sea and land adventure with over 1,200 animals and 300 different species.  Students and chaperones need to be ready to load the bus by 8:50 so we leave at 9:00.  Little Explorers afternoon class will be held when we return from our field trip.

“Memories with Mom” will be held on October 17th & 18th .   We invite moms or any other female figure in your child’s life to attend a day of preschool with your student. If you are not able to attend this event, please notify your child’s teacher so we can buddy them up with another adult.  This year’s theme is Apples!  Moms and students will make an apple tea towel to take home when dry and help cook some Apples with cinnamon.    Students in the “Little Explorers” S.T.E.M. program, who attend in the afternoon only, are to arrive at 9:00 am to participate.  Little Explorer’s parents, please plan to stay for lunch.  If you have any questions, please direct them to your child’s teachers.

On 10/19 & 20 the school will be closed for the MN Professional Conference.

10/30 & 10/31 we will be having our Pumpkin Parties.  When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent and bathroom friendly.  Some suggestions that work out nice are:  Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Storybook Characters, etc.   In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party.  Please be aware of students who have allergies in your child’s class when picking out treats. They usually go home with plenty of treats to share with their family!

Other reminders for this month:  Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your healthcare provider before October 11th  if you haven’t already.

As a reminder, we will be taking our school pictures on 11/8 & 11/9.  More information on Picture Day will be in the November Bulletin.

In God’s love,

September 2023 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Friday, September 1st, 2023

Welcome everyone!  It is September and time for school.  We hope all of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer.  We know the first few days of school can sometimes be a time of high anxiety for both the students and their parents.  We encourage you to read, “Surviving Separation, Tips for Parents”, available by request from your teachers if you are interested.

The first day of school is Monday, September 11th for the MWF students and Tuesday, September 12th for the T-Th students.

Your child will be bringing home a lime green Bright Beginnings Preschool bag. at some point.  At this time, your child will bring a snack and beverage to share with their classmates and teachers during their next class.  The snack must be nutritious and store bought.  The beverages need to also be store bought and must be either a jug of 100% juice (62 oz.) or a half gallon of low-fat 1% milk.   Please be aware if your child has a friend in their class with a food allergy.  If you’re not sure, please ask one of their teachers.

If you were not able to attend the Open House on September 6th, please see your student’s teacher for pertinent paper work.  If there is room to sign up to be a party parent, or chaperone for one of your child’s field trips, and other opportunities, please do so as soon as possible. Please make sure all of your forms are turned in.  If you have a returning student, please make sure their records are all updated.  This procedure is required by the State of Minnesota.  These forms include the Registration, Emergency Card, Permission, Immunization, Healthcare Summary or if needed, an Individual Child Care Program Plan for students with allergies, physical, social or emotional needs.  Sign up for “Remind”!  Remind is a requirement of each family to receive important classroom messages, including school cancellations.

May 2023 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Friday, April 28th, 2023

It’s hard to believe our school year is coming to an end.  The children have learned a great deal.  The teachers of Bright Beginnings feel very honored and blessed to have witnessed this growth first hand and want to thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us.

We would like to thank our Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool families who donated food and other items to our CEAP campaign.  We are excited to say our donations for 2023 came to a total of 210 lbs.  WAY TO GO BBCP FAMILIES!!!

The week of May 1st, we will be having our school Art Show.  Throughout this school year, the teachers have been collecting the students’ artwork to have framed and be placed on display for our show.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, the artwork will be on display in the atrium during school hours for your viewing.  You will be astonished at how their masterpieces look even more amazing after they have been framed.  On Thursday and Friday you will be able  to take your child’s art home.  A suggested donation of $5.00 or whatever amount you feel comfortable with, will be applied to the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund. Bright Beginnings would like to thank those who donated frames!  If you have any questions about our Art Show, please ask your teachers.

During Famous Bears week, please have your child bring their Teddy Bear to school or some other Stuffed Lovie on 5/15 & 5/16.

Field trip/picnic to Como Zoo.  This field trip will last longer than the usual morning class time. We will be returning to school at 1:00 pm. T-TH students attend preschool on Wednesday, 5/17 instead of Thursday 5/18. There will be no school on 5/18.  A portion of this field trip is paid for through our Gertens Holiday Poinsettias & Greens Fundraiser.

On May 23rd & 24th we will be having a Bubble Party at preschool for our Field Day.

The Graduation Program will be on May 25th & 26th in the Sanctuary.  Parents and others wishing to attend the ceremony, should arrive shortly before 11:00am.  This is a Kodak moment and our last day of school!  Students in the afternoon class who are not staying after the graduation ceremony, please let your teachers know.

If your child is currently enrolled in our program, you will not have to fill out new enrollment forms for the next 2023-24 school year, but you will need to update any information such as immunizations, etcetera at our Open House.  If a new sibling is enrolled for next year, you will need to fill out forms for this child.  These forms can be downloaded and printed off from our website at www.bbc-preschool.com and then turned into the teachers before the end of May, instead of waiting until Open House or the first day of school if you would like.  A confirmation and reminder letter will go out towards the end of July to remind families if any required paperwork is not in your student’s file at that point.

Your child’s Progress Reports and their portfolio will be available the day of Graduation in the Atrium.

We have attached a Parent Evaluation Form.  Please complete this form and return it to your teachers at your earliest convenience.  This information is extremely helpful for us to develop a better program.

Have a safe & blessed summer!

Your teachers;  Carol Green, Carrie Magner, Laura Petrie, Megan Hoitink & Sue Johnson
