November 2015 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Saturday, October 31st, 2015

Michelle Nelson Schmidt (author and illustrator of Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster, Bob is a Unicorn, Cats Cats, Dogs Dogs, and Dog and Mouse) will be coming to Bright Beginnings for a very special “Pajama Night” on Monday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM.  Michelle has a fantastic message for all ages about overcoming doubts and fears and following your dreams as well as not worrying what others think about you and being your very special self. In addition she will read 2 of her books aloud and share GIANT artwork from her books. It will be a magical evening! All of her books will be available for purchase and she will sign after her 45 minute presentation. 50% of all purchases will benefit the preschool in free Usborne and Kane Miller books! This event is open to the public so invite your friends, neighbors and grandparents. They’ll be very glad you did!  This is a FREE event sponsored by Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool for their Families and the community!

The cold weather has come upon us. Please label your child’s winter wear, so if it becomes misplaced we can be sure to get it back to them.

The Usborne Cards for a Cause Fundraiser was a success! We had 40% of our families participate in the fundraiser. We exceeded last year’s school record of 97 and sold 122 boxes of cards this year. WAY TO GO FAMILES!! Congratulations to the 12 families who received the The Story of Baby Jesus for selling 5 boxes or more. They were, Avery Tolle, Liam Johnson, Matthias Hanna, Emmett Fodstad, Evan Palmer, Gabriel Kovar, Jack Fostler, Jordan Cox, Benjamin Ertl, Gabe Kulseth, Lilyana Lahtinen, and Bode Grinager. In our drawing for the 2 day ~ 2 boxes, the winner was Greyson Steel. He will receive the book Under the Sea. Our winner of the First Week ~ 4 boxes, was Jack Festler. He will be receiving the book Trains by Emily Bone. We want to thank everyone who participated in the fundraiser. It helps our school become a successful extension of your child’s education.

Our first field trip of this year is on November 5th and 6th to the Fire Department and Police Station.

It is hard to believe that one third of the school year has almost passed. Tuition for the second trimester is due on or before November 15th.

Individual and class pictures will be taken on November 18th and 19th during your child’s regular class time.

A conference sign-up sheet will be available soon. Look for this sheet when you drop off your child at the beginning of class. A text message to sign up will also be sent out on “Remind”. Conferences for Mrs. Hanson’s & Mrs. Schantzen’s T-TH am classes will be on Tuesday, November 24th in the morning. Mrs. Hanson’s and Mrs. Schantzen’s conferences for their MWF am classes will be on Wednesday, November 25th in the morning. Conferences last 10 minutes for most students, except for students in the Extended Pre-Kindergarten Class, theirs will be 15 minutes each. Students may attend conferences.

The school will be closed on November 26th and 27th in recognition of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

With the oncoming flu and cold season, we would like your help in reducing the spread of viruses by having your child wash their hands before and after school. Also if you are aware your child is not feeling well, please keep them home. These precautions will help us all stay healthy.
