March 2011 Joyful News

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Once again, Joyful Noise Preschool will be collecting nonperishable food and personal hygiene items (preferably no glass) to donate to the CEAP program to help out needy families who are less fortunate than us.  Before these items are taken to CEAP, the students will use these items to set up a grocery store in the dramatic play area.  Our goal is to beat last year’s record total of 391 lbs.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to participate in a community project.

Please sign up on March 1st & 2nd for March 17th & 18th conferences. These conferences will be a 10-minute verbal conference with no report card sent home. Out of consideration for all families, if you feel you need more than 10-minutes please contact your teachers.

As a reminder, on March 3rd & 4th, we will be having Donuts for Dads.  If possible, dads or any other male figure in your child’s life should attend school this day to work on a woodworking project, presented by Home Depot in Maple Grove at the beginning of class.  Spending time with your student for the remainder of class is optional.

March 11th we do not have school due to conference preparation for teachers.

March 17th & 18th are Family/Teacher conferences. Classes will not be held on these dates.

Another reminder, on March 24th and 25th, we will have Muffins for Moms.  Again, if possible moms or any other female figure in your child’s life should attend school this day to work on a horticultural project, presented by Lynde Greenhouse & Nursery in Maple Grove, at the beginning of class.  Spending time with your student for the remainder of class is optional.

Spring Break is March 28th through April 3rd. There will not be school during this time.  We hope all of you have a fantastic time spending it with your children!

We would also like to thank those who participated in the Usborne Book Fair.  A total of $600 were sold, which tabulates into $300 of books, Joyful Noise received for their school library.  Special thanks goes out to the Benjamin, Vendel, Schaefer, Adebayo, Olesen, and Senescall families for purchasing books from the teacher’s wish list.  We would also like to thank the Christy family and a few others who may book an Usborne Book Show.  Credit from their shows will entitle Joyful Noise to receive additional books to share with the students.  Taylor Hanson’s family won “The Big Book of Things to Spot”, in the Book Drawing.

May the Lord shine upon you,

The teaching staff at Maple Grove
