May 2015 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Friday, May 1st, 2015

It’s hard to believe our school year is coming to an end. The children have learned a great deal. The teachers of Bright Beginnings feel very honored and blessed to have witnessed this growth first hand and want to thank you for sharing your children with us.

The week of May 4th, we will be having our school Art Show. Throughout this school year, the teachers have been collecting the student’s artwork to have framed and be placed on display for our Show. On Monday and Tuesday, the artwork will be on display for your viewing. You will be astonished at how their masterpieces look even more amazing after they have been framed. On Wednesday and Thursday you will have an opportunity to purchase the art for a suggested minimum amount of $5.00. Donations are also appreciated. Proceeds will benefit the recipients of the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund. Bright Beginnings would like to thank our parents who have volunteered to frame the children’s artwork! If you have any questions about our Art Show, please ask your teachers.

On May 13th & 14th we will be going on our final field trip to Como Zoo. The afternoon class will be going in the morning with the morning classes. This field trip will last one hour and forty-five minutes longer than the usual morning class time; therefore we will be returning to school at 1:15 pm. We welcome all parents who would like to attend this field trip/picnic, but we only have space for four adults per class on the bus. Others are welcome to follow behind the bus. Permission slips will be distributed closer to our departure date.

Once again, Dustin Reichert of Minnesota Bubble Parties will be back for our Field Day on May 19th & 20th. This event will feature a variety of dance songs and games. The music is upbeat and energetic, the games are simple and easy to learn and every time a bubble song comes on, hundreds of bubbles flow and the energy becomes infectious. We will also play fun games that include Hula Hoops, Limbo Poles and more. This event is paid for with our Usborne Card Fundraising money.

The Graduation Program will be on May 21st & 22nd. Parents and others wishing to attend the ceremony, should arrive for the last half-hour of your child(ren)’s class.   The children will perform a few songs and receive their graduation certificates with Pomp and Circumstance. This is a Kodak moment and our last day of school!

If your child is currently enrolled in our program, you will not have to fill out new enrollment forms for the next 2015-16 school year, but you will need to update any information such as immunizations, etcetera at Open House on the Thursday before school starts. If a new sibling is enrolled for next year, you will need to fill out new forms for this child. Those forms can be turned into the teachers before the end of May, instead of waiting until Open House or the first day of school if you would like. A confirmation and reminder letter will go out in August to remind families if we have not received the required paperwork needed at that point.

Report cards and children’s portfolios will be sent home during the last week of school.

We are pleased to say, a total of 166 lbs. of food was donated to CEAP. Unfortunately, this did not beat the amount of 186 lbs donated last year. Either way, we want to thank our Bright Beginnings Preschool families for assisting many families who are grateful for your generosity and kindness!

We have attached a Parent Evaluation Form. Please complete this form and return it to your teachers at your earliest convenience. This information helps us develop a better program and meet the needs of our families. We appreciate you taking the time assisting us.

If you haven’t already, sign up your astronaut for Camp Bright Beginnings as we launch our rockets on a “Mission to Kindergarten” while seats are still available. All prospective astronauts must be registered for Kindergarten this fall to board this mission. This camp runs from 8:30am to 11:30am, Monday through Friday, June 1st – 5th. Fees for qualifying astronauts are $145. Please contact a teacher or the school for information. This mission is open to the public as well as Bright Beginnings students.

Have a safe & blessed summer!

Your teachers; Lisa Hanson, Carrie Magner, Janice Rose, Heidi Schantzen & Angela Daniels
