October 2011 Joyful News

Sunday, October 2nd, 2011

The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school.  Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from class.  We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone.  The month of October is extremely busy with many events.

Dates to remember:

Usborne Card Fundraiser Kickoff      10/10   & 10/11

Dist. Workshop – No School           10/14

MN Prof. Conf. – No School            10/20 & 10/21

Usborne Card Fundraiser Ends         10/24 & 10/25

Pumpkin Parties                            10/27 & 10/31

School Pictures                            11/2   & 11/3

We have a new fundraiser this year.  We will be selling Boxes of Usborne Cards.  Each box contains 30 handmade cards for various occasions. We hope this will be our best fundraiser ever!  Each student who sells 5 boxes of cards will receive a beautiful Usborne book worth $10.  These cards make great Christmas gifts and gifts for other special events.  This fundraiser is a wonderful way for our school to raise money for in-house visitors, entertainers and special equipment for the classes. We appreciate everyone’s support and participation to make this another huge success!

We still have a few children who have not turned in their $30 activity fee.  Please get it in as soon as possible to help cover our party expenses at the end of this month.  When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent.  Some suggestions that work out nice are:  Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Disney Characters, etc.   In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party.  They usually go home with plenty of goodies to share with their family!

Other reminders for this month:  Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your health care provider before October 12th if you haven’t already.    Also, anyone who has not turned in their Food Perspective forms may still do so.  This is an ongoing fundraiser in which you get paid approximately $20-$35 dollars for tasting food, while the school receives $9 for your participation.

In God’s love,

Your Joyful Noise Teaching Staff at Maple Grove
