The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school. Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from class. We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone. The month of October is extremely busy with many events.
Our first field trip will be to Berry Hill Farm in Anoka on 10/10 & 10/11. The afternoon class will attend with the morning class. Permission slips will be distributed to the students and need to be signed and returned to their teachers prior to October 4th & 5th.
Last year’s fundraiser with Usborne Cards was such an enormous success! Our Usborne fundraiser kickoff will begin on 10/1 and end on 10/26. Each box contains 30 handmade cards for various occasions. Our goal is to surpass last year’s total of 179 boxes! Each student who sells 5 boxes or more will receive a beautiful Usborne book worth $10. These cards make great Christmas gifts and gifts for other special occasions. This fundraiser is a wonderful way for our school to raise money for in-house visitors, entertainers and special equipment for the classes. We would also like to reach a goal of 100% participation by all students in the school. With everyone’s support, we will make this fundraiser a huge success!
There will be no school on 10/12 due to an Osseo Dist. Workshop
On 10/18 & 19 the school will be closed for the MN Professional Conference
On 10/30 & 10/31 we will be having our Pumpkin Parties. When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent. Some suggestions that work out nice are: Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Disney Characters, etc. In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party. They usually go home with plenty of goodies to share with their family!
We still have a few children who have not turned in their $30 activity fee. Please get it in as soon as possible to help cover our field trip and party expenses this month.
Other reminders for this month: Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your health care provider before October 10th if you haven’t already.
Also, don’t forget to go online and sign up with Food Perspectives Inc. at www.fpitesters.com. Click on “Become a Tester”, complete the online sign up form, and make sure you click on Joyful Noise Christian Preschool in the organization field. This is an ongoing fundraiser which you get paid approximately $25-$35 dollars for tasting food for 30 to 60 minutes of your time, while the school receives $10 for your participation. If you have any questions, please ask your teachers.
