May 2023 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Friday, April 28th, 2023

It’s hard to believe our school year is coming to an end.  The children have learned a great deal.  The teachers of Bright Beginnings feel very honored and blessed to have witnessed this growth first hand and want to thank you for sharing your child(ren) with us.

We would like to thank our Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool families who donated food and other items to our CEAP campaign.  We are excited to say our donations for 2023 came to a total of 210 lbs.  WAY TO GO BBCP FAMILIES!!!

The week of May 1st, we will be having our school Art Show.  Throughout this school year, the teachers have been collecting the students’ artwork to have framed and be placed on display for our show.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, the artwork will be on display in the atrium during school hours for your viewing.  You will be astonished at how their masterpieces look even more amazing after they have been framed.  On Thursday and Friday you will be able  to take your child’s art home.  A suggested donation of $5.00 or whatever amount you feel comfortable with, will be applied to the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund. Bright Beginnings would like to thank those who donated frames!  If you have any questions about our Art Show, please ask your teachers.

During Famous Bears week, please have your child bring their Teddy Bear to school or some other Stuffed Lovie on 5/15 & 5/16.

Field trip/picnic to Como Zoo.  This field trip will last longer than the usual morning class time. We will be returning to school at 1:00 pm. T-TH students attend preschool on Wednesday, 5/17 instead of Thursday 5/18. There will be no school on 5/18.  A portion of this field trip is paid for through our Gertens Holiday Poinsettias & Greens Fundraiser.

On May 23rd & 24th we will be having a Bubble Party at preschool for our Field Day.

The Graduation Program will be on May 25th & 26th in the Sanctuary.  Parents and others wishing to attend the ceremony, should arrive shortly before 11:00am.  This is a Kodak moment and our last day of school!  Students in the afternoon class who are not staying after the graduation ceremony, please let your teachers know.

If your child is currently enrolled in our program, you will not have to fill out new enrollment forms for the next 2023-24 school year, but you will need to update any information such as immunizations, etcetera at our Open House.  If a new sibling is enrolled for next year, you will need to fill out forms for this child.  These forms can be downloaded and printed off from our website at www.bbc-preschool.com and then turned into the teachers before the end of May, instead of waiting until Open House or the first day of school if you would like.  A confirmation and reminder letter will go out towards the end of July to remind families if any required paperwork is not in your student’s file at that point.

Your child’s Progress Reports and their portfolio will be available the day of Graduation in the Atrium.

We have attached a Parent Evaluation Form.  Please complete this form and return it to your teachers at your earliest convenience.  This information is extremely helpful for us to develop a better program.

Have a safe & blessed summer!

Your teachers;  Carol Green, Carrie Magner, Laura Petrie, Megan Hoitink & Sue Johnson

First Days of School after Spring Break are Monday, April 3rd and Tuesday, April 4th

We are still in need of gently used picture frames, primarily 8 x 10 for our Art Show at the beginning of May, but will accept other sizes.  If you come across any old frames while doing spring cleaning, please consider donating them to the school so we can mat and frame the student’s artwork for the show!

Currently for next year, we have a few openings left in all of our classes if you know of anyone looking for a great place to send their preschool aged child to discover, stretch and grow physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Please don’t hesitate too long to sign up for any of these classes, as they won’t be available much longer. Don’t forget to share your $ 150.00 Gift Voucher distributed in December with others!

Scholastic Book orders are due on April 7th by 10:00pm. Use classroom Code: H3Q86 when ordering on-line.

No school on Friday, April 7th & Monday, April 24th. There will be school on Monday, April 10th even though Osseo School District has a remote learning day.

“Memories with Mom” will be held on April 27th & 28th .   We invite moms or any other female figure in your child’s life to attend a day of school with your student for our annual “Memories with Mom.”  If you are not able to attend this event, please notify your child’s teacher so we can buddy them up with another adult.  This year’s theme is Farm Animals!  Moms and students will learn about farm animals and the work a farmer does on the farm from Danielle Chase of Chasing Farm Life. Students in the “Little Explorers” S.T.E.M. program, who attend in the afternoon only, are to arrive at 10:20am to participate in the class with their mom or other female adult.  Little Explorer’s parents, please plan to stay for lunch.  If you have any questions, please direct them to your child’s teachers.

The Art Show Exhibit starts on May 2nd. Throughout the school year, teachers have been collecting the student’s artwork to have framed and be placed on display for our Art Show.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, the artwork will be on display in the atrium during school hours for viewing. You will be astonished at how their masterpieces look!  On Thursday and Friday we will be sending home each student’s artwork.  A suggested donation of $5.00 or whatever amount you feel comfortable with will be applied to the Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Scholarship Fund.  Bright Beginnings would like to thank those who have donated frames already.  If you have any questions about our Art Show, please ask your teachers.

In May, we will have the total poundage amount for our CEAP donations to see if we collected more than we did in 2022 with a total of 514 lbs.  Thank you to all who participated.

Your Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool Teaching Staff

March 2023 Bright Beginnings Bulletin

Tuesday, February 28th, 2023

The student’s and the staff at Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool would like to thank all the party parents who have helped with the Pumpkin Parties, Happy Birthday Jesus Parties and our Valentine Parties to make them memorable.  The crafts, games and scrumptious treats really made our parties the best!

Once again, Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool will be collecting non-perishable foods and personal hygiene items (preferably no glass) starting March 1st, to donate to the CEAP program to help out needy families who are less fortunate than us.  Before these items are taken to CEAP on Thursday, March 23rd, the students will use these items to set up a grocery store in the dramatic play area.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to participate in a community project.

Scholastic Book orders are due on March 3rd by 10:00pm. Use classroom Code: H3Q86 when ordering on-line.  You will find some wonderful Spring and Easter books that could possibly be used as Easter Basket stuffers!

The week of March 5th our theme is WACKY!  On Monday & Tuesday the 6th & 7th, students are to DRESS WACKY!  Let their imaginations run wild, anything goes!  On Wednesday & Thursday the 8th & 9th, students are to style their HAIR WACKY or wear a WACKY HAT!   This is such a fun week to see how creative everyone gets!

Friday, March 10th, no school.  Prep for conferences.

On March 16th & 17th students are encouraged to wear green. We will be setting traps in hopes of catching a Leprechaun!

Conference sign ups will be available soon.  Conferences are during your child’s regular class time.  Conferences for the 2 day class will be on Thursday, March 23rd. Conferences for the 3 day classes will be on Friday, March 24th.  Conferences will last 10 minutes for each student, except for students in the Pre-Kindergarten PLUS Class, their’s will be 15 minutes each.  Students may attend conferences. If your student has Mrs. Hoitink in the morning, and Mrs. Green in the afternoon, they will also have a conference with Mrs. Green immediately following Mrs.Hoitink’s conference.  There will be no classes for students on these days.

When doing your Spring cleaning, don’t throw away any of those old picture frames.  We are in need of gently used picture frames 8 x 10 or larger preferably, but will accept other sizes for our Art Show in May.  Thank  you for your donation in advance!

Bright Beginnings October Bulletin

Friday, September 30th, 2022

The children are doing a great job getting to know the routine at school.  Please be extra careful in the parking lot as the students are coming and going from their cars.  We want to keep this part of our day as safe as possible for everyone.  We ask that you please label all of your student’s personal belongings, such as jackets, backpacks, lunch boxes, etc. The month of October is extremely busy with many events.

We are excited to say we are Fundraising with Gertens Greenhouse this year!  Our Gertens 2022 Holiday Fundraiser kickoff begins on October 1st and ends on the 20th at 10:00 pm.  All purchases will be made on-line and delivered on November 29th to the preschool. To place your order go directly to www.gertensfundraising.com and enter Store ID: 638. Brochures are included with the Bulletin, showing pictures and prices of the greens and poinsettias which are beautiful and perfect for the upcoming Holiday Season.  This fundraiser is our only way to raise money for our Field Trips, Special Events and equipment needed for the school.  BBCP will receive 30% of all plant sales and 15% of plant card sales.  If you have any questions, please ask your teacher.  We would like to reach a goal of 100% participation by all students in the school.  With everyone’s support, we will make this fundraiser a HUGE success!

October 14th, we will take our first field trip. The 3 day students will going to Fire Station #5 in Maple Grove to have an opportunity for some hands-on learning and life saving lessons. When we are finished, we will return to preschool and share the highlights of our experience.

On 10/20 & 21 the school will be closed for the MN Professional Conference.

On 10/27 & 10/31 we will be having our Pumpkin Parties.  When choosing your child’s costume for the Pumpkin Party at school, please keep in mind that they must be non-violent and bathroom friendly.  Some suggestions that work out nice are:  Animals, Insects, Prince/Princess, Cowboy/girl, Storybook Characters, etc.   In the past, the children have brought some type of treat to pass out to their classmates at the end of the party.  They usually go home with plenty of goodies to share with their family!

Other reminders for this month:  Please turn in your Health Care Summary signed by your healthcare provider before October 12th  if you haven’t already.

As a reminder, we will be taking our school pictures on 11/9 & 11/10.  More information on Picture Day will be in the November Bulletin.

Thursday, September 1st, 2022

Welcome everyone!  It is September and time for school.  We hope all of you had a wonderful and relaxing summer.  We know the first few days of school can sometimes be a time of high anxiety for both the students and their parents.  We encourage you to read, “Surviving Separation, Tips for Parents”, available by request from your teachers if you are interested.

The first day of school is Monday, September 12th for the MWF students and Tuesday, September 13th for the T-Th students.

Your child will be bringing home a lime green Bright Beginnings Preschool bag at some point.  At this time, your child will bring a snack and beverage to share with their classmates and teachers during their next class.  The snack must be nutritious and store bought.  The beverages need to also be store bought and must be either a jug of 100% juice (62 oz.) or a half gallon of low-fat 1% milk.   Please be aware if your child has a friend in their class with a food allergy.  If you’re not sure, please ask one of their teachers.

If you were not able to attend the Open House on September 7th, please see your student’s teacher for pertinent paper work.  If there is room to sign up to be a party parent, or chaperone one of your child’s field trips, and other opportunities, please do so as soon as possible. Please make sure all of your forms are turned in.  If you have a returning student, please make sure their records are all updated.  This procedure is required by the State of Minnesota.  These forms include the Registration, Emergency Card, Permission, Immunization and Healthcare Summary.  Sign up for “Remind”!  Remind is a requirement of each family to receive important classroom messages, including school cancellations.

Bright Beginnings Christian Preschool does have a website where you can access the Bright Beginnings Bulletin, Monthly Calendar, Yearly Calendar, and Forms. The web site address is www.bbc-preschool.com.  We also have a Facebook page you can “Like”, to be able to follow any of our school announcements!

At any time during the school year, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to speak with one of the teachers.
